Neville Public Museum

Neville Public Museum

Paying homage to our culture is an integral part of our lives in Green Bay. After all, you can’t have several thousand years of traceable culture in one area and not have something to show for it. And show it we do, at several museums and cultural showcases.

The Oneida Nation Museum serves local, national and international visitors, and is one of the older Native American museums within the United States. The Museum helps preserve Oneida cultural resources and assures accessibility to the community and the public. The museum exhibits explain the world view and history of the Oneida people, and focuses on expressive culture, social change and cultural continuity.

The Neville Public Museum, a modern 58,000 square-foot facility located near Green Bay’s historic Broadway District, is a general museum of art, history and science. It is dedicated to the collection of preservation of significant objects relevant to Northeast Wisconsin, and, secondarily, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Neville houses more than two million items in the permanent collections, including historic artifacts, original artworks, archeological objects, still photographs and film.

National Railroad Museum

National Railroad Museum

From lanterns to the largest of steam locomotives, Green Bay’s National Railroad Museum is a window to the history of railroading and its contributions to the building of a nation. You’ll climb into the cab of the articulated Union Pacific Big Boy, at 1,198,000 lbs., the world’s heaviest locomotive and tender combination. Examine Dwight D. Eisenhower’s World War II command train. Ponder the futuristic Aerotrain from the 1950s. Visiting is your ticket to explore America’s railroad heritage.

Even if you’re not a football fan, the newly updated 25,000 square-foot interactive Packers Hall of Fame offers family fun at a unique sports shrine.
