Just name your game and you’ll find it, right here. Running and cycling are major participation sports for those living in Green Bay.
The Bellin Run and Cellcom Green Bay Marathon are well-established events that draw elite runners from around the world, while the Fox Cities Marathon in nearby Appleton is one of the most respected marathons in the U.S. These, and a half-dozen other running events, welcome seasoned as well as amateur athletes.
Each July, the Greater Green Bay area plays host to the Oneida Casino Titletown Challenge, an exciting cycling competition that winds through downtown Green Bay. Literally hundreds of cyclists compete as part of the International Cycling Classic, better known as SuperWeek, a 17-day racing event that extends from Wisconsin to Illinois July 11 to 27.
If you’re a golfer, you have found a home. Within 20 minutes of Green Bay, you’ll find 19 public golf courses, including Brown County Golf Course, rated one of the top 50 public courses in the United States by Golf Digest in 1999. We’ve got awesome disc golf courses available too!
But if you just like to get outside and move at your own pace, you’ll have more than 225 miles of recreation trails, both paved and unpaved, for your cycling, rollerblading, and jogging and just plain walking entertainment. There are plenty of activities for the kids year-round in Green Bay as well. The local Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA, and the YWCA, and municipal recreation leagues offer kids from toddlers to adolescents the chance to improve their athletic skills and make new friends in a healthy, non-threatening environment.
